A lion is a carnivorous cat-like animal with a mane that is extremely strong and powerful that is known as the king of the jungle.

A lioness is a female lion. They have the same characteristics except that they do not have manes.

The author does manage to get her point across. I did I have a very similar interpretation of this story. In the beginning of the story it does become evident that is a variation of the story of Adam and Eve. The other blogger's interpretation is also quite similar. By naming the animals she was characterizing them before getting to know the true person. Very often these broad generalizations or stereotypes are not true.

I like your definition of a lion. I didnt think about the whole King of the jungle idea to describe them.

I agree with your interpretation of the other blogger's view toward the author's piece. Just like with people, getting to know someone is important before naming them, much like with the animals. The interview does reveal the biblical references used in the writing.

I totally agree with what brad said about your defination of a lion. I definately laughed when I realized that I didn't even think about how everyone references a lion as the king of the jungle.

your definition of a lion leaves a little to be desired. I mean theres a lot more to those things then that. True they are the "king of the jungle" but when in the heck do you actually see them in a "jungle?" umm never, they are always in like africa in the desert or somethin like that. Just look at lion king, deff. no jungles there, well unless you count the part with timon and pumba, but thats not really realistic
