The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner
This poem is discussing one soldiers first hand account in a war. It begins with him feeling relaxed as if he is with his mother and no harm can come to him. Then it quickly turns into him feeling as if he is an object of the army. He is not an indespensible part of the war because his job can be easily replaced. While flying through the air he is at peace with himself until he is awaken to the realization that he is in the middle of a war, a war that took his life.

For some reason this poem I found this poem to be very powerful. The description of the soldier's different emotions made it easy for the reader to relate to. I didn't really feel that he was at peace when he was in the air though. I interpreted the poem as if he simply zoned out and became blank.
I really liked how you took this poem and thought he was at peace. I really didn't have a clue what it meant for a while but this was a completely different outlook than I had had and I liked your interpretation of it.
I like your interpretation of his dreamlike state. This peom was very interesting for me and you did a good job analyzing it.
